This is a new age / contemporary Christian album, that uses some Celtic instrumentation -- but these are not Celtic hymns.
celtic worship Aug 10, 2006
I found the album too restrained and technically correct. Great for a quiet meditation but not stirring to the soul.
ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL Jan 2, 2003
This is SOOOO Celtic & is a beautiful work of worship. The reverence of "Awesome God"& the angelic voice of Ms. Lacy are a pair that Rich Mullins would be proud to hear. The instrumentation of these songs is filled the best of what Ireland has to offer. This is a work worth sharing...it takes you to the hills of Ireland!
Wonderful! Sep 29, 2001
Beautiful music!! (They have a website, if you want to see all of the wonderful music they have comprised without going batty trying to find it all yourself. Just enter their name into a search engine and voila!) Very relaxing and totally gets you refocused back on the Lord.
The Best Example of Celtic Christian Music I Know Sep 19, 2001
Two years ago somebody sent me a bootleg copy of various speakers from the Brownsville Revival interspersed with samples of Christian music.
At the end of the first side was the most haunting rendition of Rich Mullin's _Awesome God_ I ever heard. Done in the Celtic Christian style, the haunting traditional Irish intruments were accompanied by a female solist with a voice so clear and sharp, you could shave with it.
It took two years of looking, but I finally found the album and the entire CD is filled with Christian worship music so beautiful and poignant it brings tears to my eyes. _Celtic Worship_ by Eden's Bridge was produced in 1997 and on some British music lists is *still* in the Top Five.
With a Celtic fusion style reminiscent of Clannad, the set starts out with _Awesome God_ which is followed by some of the most moving examples of Celtic music I've ever been privileged to hear. Cuts of importance are the introspective ballad _Stones and Sea_ to the traditional renditions of _He Is Exalted_ and probably the best known Celtic Christian hymn, _Be Thou My Vision_.
