Do You Know Him?

Do you consider yourself a good person? Most people would answer yes. But are you good enough to get into heaven? Let me ask you a few questions and see if you are.

Have you ever told a lie? If so, what does that make you? Have you ever stolen anything,even something little? The Bible says that anyone who looks at another with lust has committed adultery already with them in their heart. Ever done that?

If you answered yes to any of these questions then you have a problem.The Bible says that all liars,thieves and adulterers have no place in the kingdom of God. That means that if you were to die tomorrow,you would spend eternity in a place called hell.

Does that concern you? It should. Hell is a place of eternal darkness and torment reserved for the devil and his angels. It's not a place to party,or where you can satisfy all your sinful desires,but a place of complete separation from God and His blessings,forever.

But there is a way out. God,in His awesome love and mercy,sent His only Son,Jesus Christ,to die on the cross for you and for me,so that we wouldn't have to spend eternity in hell.All we have to do is confess that we've sinned against God,ask Him to forgive us of our sins,trust in the Lord Jesus for salvation and we will be saved.

It's a free gift. A gift that cost us nothing,but cost Him everything. Jesus loves YOU. You are precious to Him. He would have gone to the cross had you been the only one on earth.That's how important you are to Him.It doesn't matter who you are,what you've done,or where you've been. He loves YOU! The God who created you,who gave you every breath,loves you and wants you to know Him. He can take your broken heart,your pain,your anger,whatever you are struggling with,and make you new.

He stands at the door(of your heart)and knocks. All you have to do is open the door and let Him in. It's not about getting religious. It's about accepting what He has done for you. Jesus gave His life on the cross for you,and for me. He paid the penalty for your sins because you can't do it for yourself. There is nothing you can do to earn your way into heaven. It's only by the blood of Christ that we are saved.

Won't you invite Jesus into your heart today? It's a decision you'll never regret!

Use this prayer or your own words...Lord Jesus,I acknowledge that I am a sinner in need of your forgiveness.I believe that you paid the penalty for my sins by dying on the cross,and that you rose from the dead.And right now,I ask You to come into my life and be my Lord and Savior. Forgive me,Lord,for my sins,for trying to live my life my way. Help me to live each day for You. In Jesus' name,Amen.
